Admission Requirements: WPI's Fire Protection Engineering Graduate Programs

  • Applicants to the Master of Science in Fire Protection Engineering online and/or on-campus program should have a BS in engineering, engineering technology, or the physical sciences.
  • Those with degrees in engineering technology or the physical sciences may be required to take selected undergraduate courses to round out their backgrounds.
  • Applicants should have already taken courses in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and calculus through differential equations.
  • Professional exposure to design and construction activities is highly desired.
  • Additional requirements for international applicants as imposed by the department of civil and environmental engineering apply.
  • Work history will be considered if you include a resume in your application.
  • Applicants should have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • GMAT/GREs are not required for this program
