On-Site Custom Corporate Training: Six Sigma Green Belt

Lean and Six Sigma are well established methodologies for quality improvement and cost reduction. These methodologies are more than just theoretical approaches; they have been proven to be effective in countless industries and companies around the world. Through a strong reliance on data, structured process, an empowered team, and a focus on the customer’s definition of quality and performance; these methodologies encompass a set of proven best practices.

The WPI Green Belt program is based upon the IASSC Universally Accepted Lean Six Sigma Body of Knowledge (ILSSBOK) and years of practical experience conducting improvement projects. Each student is encouraged to identify a process or problem within their business where they can apply these tools and techniques. The process can be either a manufacturing process/problem or a business support process/problem. When a student completes the program, they will be prepared to take the IASSC Green Belt exam. The program is an eight day program. Each day will include a combination of lectures, problem sets, exercises, and case studies.

To facilitate a complete understanding of the tools and how they apply to projects, workshops use real-life projects, approved by the sponsoring manager and developed over several months. This unique approach improves outcomes as students not only learn the principles discussed, but continue to work with instructors over the course of a real project to ensure they have sufficiently mastered the techniques.

A GREEN BELT HAS AT LEAST THREE YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE, IS UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF A BLACK BELT, AND WANTS TO DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE OF SIX SIGMA TOOLS AND PROCESSES.
