Could an increasing self-awareness mean an end to all that divides us, once and for all?

Dr. Jamie P. Monat, a Director in WPI’s Corporate and Professional Education Department, was recently published in Futures, a peer-reviewed journal “concerned with medium and long-term futures of cultures and societies, science and technology, economics and politics, environment and the planet and individuals and humanity.”

Monat’s whitepaper, The Emergence of Humanity’s Self-Awareness, examines the idea of self-awareness—a quality that separates humanity from even the most complex animals—and how it will emerge, as population and our interconnectedness through technology expand over the coming centuries.
